Most of the best surfing spots in Bali are located on the southern coast and near the Buco Peninsula. Compared to Kuta and Legian, the surf areas here are covered with steep rocks and waves, so only skilled surfers are advised to play here. It is very dangerous for beginners to surf here. The wave of waves is only available to professional surfers. Patong Patong regularly holds large-scale surfing championships. The towering sea temple in Uluwatu is independent and overlooks the waves at the foot of the sea.
1. Uluwatu
Uluwatu`s reputation for surfing is based not only on its whitewash, but also its excellent location, stunning scenery and landmark building Tanah Lot to create the perfect surfing experience. In addition to Uluwatu, what is the place where you can enjoy surfing and look up to the ancient temple of India that stands proudly on the cliffs? Four feet above the waves, the human beings are as small as sand, and the bright white days are shining in the sun. Before surfing, you should first check the tide change chart or ask local people for the tide route. Remember to bring your favorite surfboard, surf shoes, and don't forget to bring cash, after surfing to find a restaurant on the cliff to enjoy after-wave massage. Please note that changes in the trend, an inattentive may be washed into Patong Patong Beach. Later, we will introduce Padang Patong. But before that, let's take a closer look at the Suluban beach.
2. Suluban Beach
Suluban Beach is not far from Uluwatu and is an isolated surfers paradise. Suluban Beach, otherwise known as the "Blue Point", has its unique charm. Sunbathing tourists gather on the beautiful and narrow beaches. On the way to Suluban Beach, you have to bend over a steep staircase and a rocky gap. And this is only the first step. After coming down, it must go into a hole before it can reach the beach. In Indonesian, Suluban means "bending over and falling down," and its meaning is self-evident. What attracts the surfers most is the long and powerful surge here and the continuous rolling waves. Sitting in the viewing room above the cliff top, you can enjoy exciting surfing activities and more extensive views.
3. Patong Patong Beach
Patong Patong is popular among surfers for its continuous rolling waves, and most importantly, it is accessible, and the unique hollow rock entrance faces the exotic white sands. Padang Padang Beach is sandwiched between Bin Phu Beach and Uluwatu Beach. It also hosts regular international surfing events such as the Rip Curl Cup Padang-Padang Contest. The waves of uninterrupted waves here average up to 4 feet and above. Therefore, only professional surfers can ride, and the spectacular waves hide hidden reefs. Sometimes it hits the rocks with thousands of layers of waves. Despite this, every weekend, there are still tourists.
4. Impossibles
Impossibles Beach lies between Bintang Beach and Patong Patong Beach and features a long reef. The meaning of the beach is self-evident: Challenge the experienced surfers to conquer the daunting waves here. Impossibles has three ride areas (also known as "Chonglang District"), from Padang Padang to the first one. From the middle of the beach, you can access two other ride areas. Demonstrating the surge of natural forces and rolling waves can allow surfers to enjoy the time dancing with the waves. The average wave here is up to 2 - 5 feet. In addition, there is a magnificent panoramic beach landscape and natural and irregular rock for visitors to enjoy.
5. Bingin
Binh Thanh Beach is located on the south side of Kuta Beach. The two are an hour away and only a few minutes away from Uluwatu Beach in the north. The beach is located on the southwest side of the Buco Peninsula, although it is not as big as Uluwatu, but there are dangerous reefs here. The rolling waves at Binh Thuan Beach are very similar to those of Uluwatu's sister surf, but there is no Uluwatu's long wave. Therefore, it is not easy to find the perfect surfing moment here. Tidal waves have a huge impact on surfing, and you must have a map of tides that you can view at any time, or ask local surfers who are familiar with it. The waves here are not as frightening as Uluwatu. Therefore, there are more people surfing here.
